Henry Chan
The Beans Library Specialist - Henry Chan
Henry is fond of everything about coffee. He completed the learning modules in SCA and went to Germany to learn from Dr. Steffen Schwars, founder of Coffee Consulate, which he obtained the qualification of Coffeeologist in 2018. His all-rounded training background equipped him with knowledge in diverse aspects in coffee industry.
Since then, his pursuit of coffee has never stopped. He travelled around the world to visit farms and roasteries, learning about different roasting methods to discover the core elements in the making of quality coffee. His experience makes him an expert on coffee origins in Africa, Asia, Central and South America. He has also participated in international events such as Liberica Roasting Championship and Borneo Coffee Symposium.
Henry is an active contributor to the society. He has provided consultation and training services to various NGOs and social enterprises, including Caritas Lok Heep Club, Roly-Poly Inclusion Sports Association and Resource Center for the Deafblind. Henry felt particularly proud in successfully training a group of visual / hearing impaired people to become capable barista.
